What enclosure are you using?

They own it but they license it exclusively to Verizon

no one in our office is. Just a large clean luxurious single bathroom

Two words; Handicap Bathroom

Yup, I went through 2 Linksys routers, not cheap ones mind you, before I just went with the airport extreme. It just got to be too much of a hassle having to constantly trouble shoot them to figure out why I was having connection issues. After the initial setup, I haven't had to touch the extreme in about a year and

Its got a killer refresh rate, and a PCI bus

You teach them how to not get caught and instill a code of ethics in them to only kill those that truly deserve it.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot then. I almost exclusively use it on a desk, or on my lap, in both instances its plugged in all the time. Agreed on the battery life too, was a life saver during the hurricane here in nyc.

Mine is plugged in most of the time. Would there be any down side to forcing the discrete GPU basically all the time?

You would probably have to wait until the next one is released. You can get education pricing though which knocks off $200. I used the $200 savings to upgrade the ram on mine to 16gb. The 15" with 16gb ram is a beast

is $130 by itself a lot? No. Does $130 seem like a lot when it represents a 65% increase in price relative to a competitor that is arguably just as good? Then it gets dicey. Its not just $130, its $130 in addition to the rest of the money you're spending on the device. I do agree you get what you pay for, but are

psh, my 15" MBPr boots in 8 seconds. Also, my cat's breath smells like catfood.

I've only done black friday once, and it was at a Walmart. Not only was their line taking up multiple blocks about 2 hours before the doors opened, but everyone inside acted like complete savages. Everyone's primal instincts came out. People fighting in the store, stealing carts, ripping items out of peoples hands.

I hear you, but I doubt they actually physically went to work. They likely worked from home or some other site. They chose to ignore the forecasts. I understand your point that sandy was really really really rare. But any business that relies on website uptime should have a disaster plan with offsite redundancy.

A couple of points to add.

to play devils advocate, that doesnt excuse not having redundant servers elsewhere. Sandy was bad, but if they had a proper disaster plan they would have been able to deal with it. The backup site was just a stop gap.

yes you can, LetMeWatch this works in the Chrome browser

LetMeWatchThis works with the Chrome browser on the Google TV boxes (at least it does on my Revue), so Chrome on a tv is extremely useful. Between LMWT and the Plex App, these boxes make really good budget media centers.
