I had like the best Monte Cristo sandwich ever there.

Yeah, the NPR article that covered this talked to an ACLU lawyer or summit who said this was a bad idea, too.

And people say there's an education crisis in America!

This is my sincere terror, that something of that magnitude could occur during this administration.

He, uh, he wasn't.

There's a Twitter account that is outing people based on photographs of the rally.

I'm not surprised. Gaiman is more twee than goth.

"Of course we're criminals. We've always been criminals."

The Irish Famine occurred during her rule.

I was repurposing a quote from The Dark Knight Returns, re: criminals.

Would you like a hot pocket? They're quite delicious, really.

We don't have cable any longer. Not exactly by choice. We've been talking about cutting the cord, but it was still nice for PBS and sportsball and such. It's just too expensive for what it delivers, and we're looking down the barrel of our own poverty and the next few months to a year are going to be rough.

I think it's going to be a Robinson joint, later this year. You were warned, Shulkie. You were warned!

I think more or less. But Rucka changed all of Wonder Woman's previous encounters with other Amazons or Themyscira into lies and falsehoods. He restored brunette Hippolyta and Io and loads of other familiar post-Crisis faces.

The tiara signifies her position as royalty. She's the original Princess Di! Accept no substitutes.

I gave it up when Rucka left. I heard a rumor that Diana's twin brother would be showing up… I just… I couldn't. It would be one thing if we got the Nu52 version of Nubia (as fucking insane and misguided as that story was), but this looks like "trainwreck" material to me.

I think children's literature focuses on death at about the same ratio as any literature does: i.e. about 50%. It's one of the great immensities after all, it would be weird if it was never touched upon, but I don't buy the thesis of this article (or the book it is reviewing, I guess).

I read some of the Alexander stuff (that was one of those exceptions) but mostly I read bad sci-fi and fantasy. Xanth (which doesn't hold up, the AV Club even did an article about that) and Dragonlance and all that crap. Having ingested a steady diet of such things in my youth is why I cannot stomach it any longer.

Exhibit A: Batman Forever.

Of course he's a jerk. He's always been a jerk. He loves being a jerk.
