That didn't bug me - Turkey is on the Med and so is Themyscira, easy to pick up a neighbor's language - what bugged me is that she seemed able to speak Shoshone. On the one hand, patently ridiculous. There's a reason the US used Navajo speakers to pass coded communications during WWII. On the other hand, it suggests

Steve Trevor has been Wonder Woman's Lois Lane since her first appearance in 1941. But unlike Lois, Steve didn't stick around in perpetuity as a permanent member of her supporting cast. He disappeared for a few decades, got reintroduced and then shuffled off, had ersatz versions of himself ("Trevor Stephens")

Whats interesting in that seduction scene is that Steve starts off trying to do it the normal way, but quickly realizes that won't work with Maru and shifts gears and starts using philosophy and talking about entropy and stuff. I'm not sure that I get "loneliness for the touch of a man" from that. Loneliness, sure.

Who knew Princess Buttercup could kick that much ass?

I can't tell you how relieved I was that the kissing scene was not awkward, that there was no pause for Diana to say "so that's what kissing is" or some other nonsense. She's an adult, she's had relationships, she knows what she's doing, end of story.

I think the casting in the first Thor movie is entirely because of Branagh - how else do you explain Hopkins? - and I also think that Portman did a much better job in the first movie than she did in the second. Her performance in the second movie had "contractual obligation" written all over it.

I think she actually injured herself, which cut down on how much Alexander was able to do in the film.

More word play, at any rate.

Officially intrigued, especially since Bug died in that. Not that death ever stopped a comic book character.

Holy Not-Getting It, Batman!

Like I said, he paid attention on that beach.

This was something that was important to me, too. One of the things I liked about the film was that Wonder Woman was shot as a superhero and main character, not as cheesecake. I'm not saying I don't like cheesecake - I do enjoy it a lot, actually - but it meant a lot to me as a comic book nerd that at no point did the

Give us Hell, Rife-y!

His WTF? interview was kind of the complete opposite of that. He was warm and genuine and funny and charming.

Barnes & Noble decided this book goes into the Business section, within the sub-heading "Communication." Sounds like it would be better in Science, Psychology, or Medicine. But what the fuck do I know?

Wow, this looks great and fun and silly and ohmygosh Sandman and Sandy the Golden Boy, which means the Pre/Post-Crisis DCU! That makes me happy.

That X-Men cover with Cap, Wolverine, and Black Widow?

This makes me happy.

Malfunctioning Doombot - Doom never thanks anybody!
