The pristine nature of the landscape is none of my concern - all them sweet, sweet Daedra artifacts, void salts, and soul gems are.

The flip side is that the Oblivion gates are a source of so much loot that multiple gates isn't that big a deal, because the payoff is so great.

That reminds me, I have to find Umbra in Oblivion and kick her ass. That sword is pretty sweet.

It used to be her eyes would go white only when she used her powers, too. I have no idea whats going on in those panels.

Have never played Morrowind. Closest I've come is that island in Skyrim.

I enjoyed Rome and Constantinople, but it was the empty wilderness of ACIII that made me realize what I really liked about these games was the tourism porn, and being able to parkour around the Colisseum or the Hagia Sophia.

This is the first time I bothered with the arena. It was fun. I'm determined to do as much of the little shit as possible this time out and save the actual quest for later. Sean Bean can just wait.

I liked AC III but once it blocked me from exploring some shitty pirate town and forced me out on the water to learn how to maneuver the boat more, I gave up.

I think for the Bethesda games, though, the filler is the point. Who actually does the main quest as opposed to just fucking around for a hundred hours?

No mirelurks in FO4? That's a shame. I generally stay out of the water in Fallout games because of the radioactivity, not the presence of mutant spawn.

I am being careful with the leveling this time around (and still doing it wrong - I haven't gotten a +5/+5/+5 yet). But it is something I am very wary about. I want all the cool loot that comes with higher levels (although bandits with glass weapons still makes me chuckle), but I don't want to die like a schmuck

I think I went from Skyrim to Assassin's Creed IV and while I enjoyed just bumming around pseudo-Viking land, I found the open world in AC IV incredibly fucking annoying. I still don't think I have an answer for why. Presentation, maybe? The main story being less intrusive/mandatory in Skyrim vs. AC? I dunno.

Most Bethesda games are like that, from what I have seen.

I think the really big open world games are nothing but filler. And that's part of their charm.

One of these times, it surely will!

Maybe just writing down the top twenty dangling plot threads and finding a way to wrap them each up withing five years, say, would have helped.

Nightcrawler used to be such a positive portrayal of a religious person in comics. He was Catholic, but it didn't solely define him. He was pretty much just Errol Flynn with a tail most of the time. Then somebody decided to make him a priest and the whole Chuck Austen thing happened and oh Jesus the horror.

I still check that site from time to time, but it's all articles about tv shows and movies and casting tv shows and movies and people dressing up like superheroes, and the only actual comics-related articles are the solicits from Previews.

The thing about the original X-Men is that pretty much no one really cared about them in the first place, which is why they got canceled like twice before Giant-Size X-Men #1 actually featured characters people liked.

Of all the easy outs for superhero deaths, it must be admitted that Madrox has one of the easiest.
