In Stark's case, he made the suit to escape a hostage situation and keep shrapnel from killing him in Vietnam. Riri stole a bunch of parts from MIT to make the suit and decided to fight crime during a joy ride.

Marvel's USA must be a great place to live in if teenagers can fight crime with DIY bulletproof armor, guns and missile launchers without anyone batting an eye.

Jane Foster sucks. I wish it was one of his daughters.

Didn't care for the comic in general. The 5th issue was just horrible.

Why is it alright for a 15 year old girl to fight crime with military grade weapons and armor?

I thought she was Beyonce from Austin Powers Goldmember.

Scotty would have been the best choice seeing as Pegg is playing him and wanted to make a character gay. He even has a potential lover in his alien sidekick. They were stuck in that outpost together for a long time.

That sucks though I can understand if it was an argument about typecasting but an argument about canon is a bit tougher to swallow. There isn't much that would contradict a retcon making him bisexual or discovering his sexual orientation later in life. Takei's points on closeted homosexuals in the future being

Sounds like a nice easter egg for fans of George Takei. He always wanted to have Trek shine a light on homosexuality.

They've been making a comeback recently under de Blasio.

Nope. Their mandate is to sell comics regardless of quality.

They could have put Rhodes back in the armor and noone who reads Iron Man comics would have batted an eye.

To be fair, I am just going meh. Just another attempt to boost sales with controversy from Marvel Comics.

Iron Maiden would have been a cool callback to Earth X.

I guess Iron Man is just the suit now.

Not surprising since there's more hipsters than muggers in NYC now and Miami is where all the old people gravitate towards after retiring.

For a while, it was rare to see superheroes even having a mundane pet.

I thought they were joking when the only thing that carried over from RYV was Regent.

It looked like RYV was a random mix of old continuity with tweaks added. The tweaks themselves were probably done to separate it from 616 continuity lest people start claiming it is an off shoot of the main line.

It would have been interesting to see what he would have done after that if Regent didn't kill all the other heroes. Would he have continued in a guilt fueled crime fighting binge to near self destruction or retired to be a family man anyway?
