And tomatoes! Every time I use my tomato knife I think of that quote. I had to pause this episode I was laughing so hard at the knife callback.

I'm gonna defend the apartment thing. I've lived in tiny studio for 6 years that costs more than either of those two Iowa apartments. To live in a place the size of her house in my city would require lottery-level life changes. If I was going to be in a place like Iowa temporarily, I can't say I wouldn't make the same…
Mono— d'oh!
The AV Club turned into Clickhole so gradually, I never even noticed!
"Here’s the copy about “Goldmine” I received a few weeks back, some of which was met with raised eyebrows. Try to guess which parts:"
That's funny, the thing that rubs me the wrong way about G&O is that the two main characters seemed grounded in reality, but every secondary character is really over the top. The lack of consistency on the reality/cartoon spectrum throws me off.
The AV Club IS 3 days behind the rest of the internet.
I'm a Scriptnotes listener and a very casual comics fan, and it's clear that nobody getting outraged about this actually listened to the podcast. Yeah, his cheap "virgin" shots at comics fans are indefensible, and by all accounts Man of Steel (which I never saw) wasn't very good. But the part where he's quoted about…
In other movies or TV shows, a scene's technical ambition can sometimes take me out of the story (ex. the long shots in Children of Men) but on this show, her performance is SO convincing that even though there's an intellectual party of me marvel at her skill, the rest of me is saying "What are you talking about, no…
"[This show is] strictly the province of people […] like me." -The heart of all lazy TV criticism.

I'm still sad about it! I recognize that the show just manipulated me into caring about pencil before snapping it in half, but I'm still sad!
This is probably as good a place as any to recommend the Onion webseries Sex House. Very much in the same vein of a premise taken to its illogically logical conclusion
Comedy Central showed the body slamming into the ceiling in the promo for the episode, so I didn't get to experience that shock. Boo, Comedy Central!
I remembered that the speech ended with "Who's with me?!" about 2 seconds before Forrest did, and I reacted pretty much the same way.
The scene where he quit the coffee stand made me genuinely, uncomfortably sad. I almost had to turn it off.
Since I became aware of the Bechdel test, I've always asked myself of my own art: A) Does this pass the Bechdel test, and B) If not, is there a good reason why?
Well I for one am glad I chose to watch last weeks' GoT on Sunday night instead of waiting until Monday afternoon like I usually do. That was a pretty fucking blatant thing to put in a headline immediately after the show aired.
Also in the past week they've posted think-pieces on Game of Thrones and last week's Parks and Rec that had vaguely spoiler-y headlines, and people flipped the fuck out. I think this a tongue-in-cheek response to that.
I'm VERY excited for his take on the new Star Wars movies.
