In my youth, I had an ‘85 Dodge Ram w/carb, and after that, a ‘88 with early fuel injection of some sort. The difference was very noticeable. The ‘88 felt like a race car compared to the ‘85.

I’ve always been fond of the SLT nameplate.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a straight Legacy wagon... they are always Legacy Outback trim/package.

Old thread, I know, but I must chime in... I’ve got a ‘13 WRX that has both driver and PAX auto up/down switches... Maybe it was an option at the time?

Oh. How far we’ve come in 50 years... Gas is comparitively cheap now, and I still get pissed at my stupid ranger that pulls 13-14 MPG. I can’t imagine getting less than that. That’s a whole lotta petrol!

Yeek. I can imagine. I never even considered an STi, as the price was a bit out of my wheelhouse, and considering the difference between the two, I’d never utilize the additional power. That being said, it’s good to know that while the choice was forced, I made the right one!

Dunno if your 40 miles was round trip, or one way, but that would only give the thing 5-10 mpg?

You mention short longevity on these old American cars... I can’t recall where I saw it, but I read somewhere that those 60's era cars weren’t meant to last longer than about 5 years.

My one stop shop dealer drove a number of cars, but they usually had an actual baby seat in the back, sometimes occupied.

I’ve seen that too. Take a look at the UK Autotrader and filter for cheapest. I wonder why that is? They have what appear to be very serviceable vehicles for just a few hundred quid...

My ‘97 non-PI CV had seats like that in light blue. They were GLORIOUS! It was like sitting in my favorite comfy recliner. Plus, huge back seat. When I had it, I was well past my days of back seat foolin’ around, but if I was ever on a road trip and needed a nap, that back seat was there for me.

I feel like you posted that for the sole reason of getting attention. Especially the part about how you only distracted drive in the city, where it’s even more attention is required vs. the high way.

You, sir, are a terrible human being (at least while driving) and should have your license revoked.

I’ve never actually ridden in/driven an STi, but I have read that the suspension is very stiff and uncomfortable for DD duties. Prior to the WRX, I had an ‘08 plain vanilla Impreza, and while I def notice a difference in the suspension between the two, the WRX isn’t so stiff that I need to make regular appointments

I have a ‘13 WRX. While the seats seem quite comfortable to me, and my 6'2" frame, that damn dashboard squeak drives me batty. I bought it with the intention of learning some of the finer points of modding, but alas... money and time seem to be in short supply these days. Still, I get a smile every time I mash the gas

I did a search, and it looks like it’s true. There is another outfit by the same name, but I don’t think it’s the same entity.

If that’s the case, I’m going to start a US——> Norway Camaro export business.

I realize this is an old subject, but I seem to recall that this place got shut down. If the feds couldn’t do anything, what happened to them? I can’t imagine that they shut down voluntarily.

Don’t forget muffler bearings.

I had that in Scion flavor, with the faster engine, but it quickly died, and I forgot about it.
