As I mentioned above, I’ve read that (American) cars built in the 60's had an expected/designed lifespan of about 5 years/50K miles.

Somewhere I read that the American cars built in the 60's weren’t meant to last longer than around 5 years. I couldn’t tell you where I read that, or if it’s true, but as time has shown, they’ve lasted much longer than that.

He may get off. IIRC, there was a guy in TX that killed a prostitute bc she was stealing from him, and got off due to TX’s loose use of force to protect property laws.
