I have a car (EK Civic DX) that’s right around ~2100lbs and 100 hp. It is not fast by any means and struggles passing on a two lane blacktop. Now if the Hyundai was about 1600lbs then it might be sporty.

Sorry, but unless 198 hp in a car just north of 4000 lb is “more than enough” I’m going to say this is still underpowered.

Sorry. Call me old-fashioned, but no three-cylinder engine qualifies as “sporty” in my book.

Peroni was, miraculously, unhurt.

Double twist.  I give it a 10.

China is historically a very isolationist society. The state of trade with that country is built upon a few key agreements negotiated and agreed to by western companies seeking specifically to sell products in that market. Coca-Cola, for instance, basically sold their souls to sell beverages to the Chinese.

I’m a very liberal person who doesn’t believe in blind patriotism. That said, you are simply wrong. This isn’t subjective. China’s record on human rights is abysmal.

I hate driving to DC, but I have to go up there for work sometimes. I took Amtrak the last time. It was a decent experience, but reminded me of riding the train at Dollywood, as it slowed down to a crawl many times through the trip and its top speed was probably 45-50 mph, but rarely reached that. The trip takes 4

I’m from Asia so am well-versed in the actual situation. Some commenters say other countries like the USA are equally bad.

The biggest problem there is Baltimore, which has a very old tunnel that requires the trains to slow down massively. Amtrak would like to have the fastest trains skip Baltimore, both to avoid the tunnels, and because stopping at BWI/Baltimore means the trains never really get up to speed between DC and Philadelphia,

China is an honest to god communist dictatorship though. Does America have countless of areas where much improvement is needed? Sure, clearly, but at least it’s still a democracy. (Or it’s supposed to be one anyway.)

Cannot unsee, but still like it!

Does Acela translate to “gigantic fucking snake that wears a miner’s helmet”?

I am aware that china is the biggest market now,but all of these companies are actually supporting a horrific communist regime when they set up shop there. I have nothing against the chinese people but that regime is as corrupt as it can be, they are actually more like a mafia than a legit government.

Heart disease really owes the world a solid.

“I’ve got the highest stage cancer ever. Nobody has a higher, more luxuryous stage of cancer than me, Your Favorite President.”

Yes, but oil companies aren’t exactly known for their long-term sustainable business practices.

Maybe the auto makers should deal with Melania instead?

Wait, so, the car manufacturers were going “Yeah, we’ll make our cars more fuel efficient overall,” and instead of letting private industry just do whatever, the Trump administration was like “No, be worse.”
