Yeah! Treble, aka “driver layer,” (by god, why did this take so long?) is the biggest point for Android 8.0 for enthusiasts imo. It basically makes it a breeze to decouple the phone from manufacturer/carrier cycles. It’s community ROM renaissance!

I don’t have as much experience in high performance driving so my sample is not big, but the time I did a full day of track and auto-cross, I had absolutely no issues. Look down at my phone while riding, and suddenly the world is all upside down.

I haven’t thought of how they could solve the problem, but now I am curious. To me it has just been a fact of life: I love driving, but I get incredibly barfy when I am the passenger and doing anything other than looking outside.
