I would guess the Quick Save functions more like most games auto save, you only have 1 slot for it so whenever it takes a new one you overwrite the last one. So if you want a save to go back to you'll need to save it using a save point.

That being said this is just a guess on my part since I haven't played this game.

World PVP is pretty much always terrible. Most recent experiences with it are raids of one faction murdering the other faction when they try to get into or out of Highmaul(this used to be horrible due to a bug that made the game confused on where your body was)
