They (him, his mother, and the Sinatra family, at least Nancy) have all made indications in the past that they know and accept it. Its all wink-wink stuff because I think they understand the furor it would be to ‘announce’ it.

I read Condé Nast publications and feel pretty plugged in in general and I literally never heard about this website. This is not to say I’m special but to point out they must have really done a shit job marketing/launching.
I think they got bad press about doing exactly that last time. People had to be moved and women were displaced from where they expected to give birth. I think it was a headache for all ultimately.
Right, and I get that but there is something to the image of a woman from the 50s in a modern context that is uncomfortable for me.
Yeah I love TP but especially with the new season get squicked out by the particular aesthetic of all the young women. There is something very dreamy pinupy about all of them. And its the sameness that bothers me. Whether because of the svengali type preferred vision that it implies or the innate inter-changeability…
I do remember hearing a while back that he was either going to or got a retinal implant that essentially would allow him to see shadow and light.
I know. Like, does Van cover it ever?
Or as my mother always said, “In a 100 years, we all will be dead.”
I’m most familiar with the Margaret Rutherford Marple so it holds a special place in my heart, even if the performances were way outta wack with the Marple in my head. She’s such a great actress its just fun to watch her go. Geraldine McEwan’s though was closest to the Marple I always pictured. Like you said, she has…
Yes old Doctor Mayhew never liked horses, only mules. We all know what that means.
Wonder too if there is something different about youth culture. Kids don’t drive around in cars aimlessly anymore (gas too expensive) and don’t ‘hang out’ for hours in random places out of boredom either (they have endless options for entertainment).
I am 100% a Miss Marple girl. However I’ve read it all and always appreciated that Poirot is ridiculous as he wants to be. In one of the books he essentially says in essence (not quoting) “I know Englishmen don’t like my small, dark foreign looks and my effeminate manners and style. That’s why I do it. They…
The narrator often wondered if Poirot dyed his hair, because it was always jet black even as he aged; in the final novel we learn he resorted to wearing a wig and a face merkin!
I would very much like it if Kenneth Branagh would stop putting his mitts on things I hold dear. Honestly his vanity projects are getting out of control. His vanity itself, well that train left the station a long time ago (ah heh).
Ahem. Clue is Murder on the Orient Express in a mansion, my good fellow!
I mean the english spoken in canada is very similar to the english spoken in Texas. But they sound completely different.
Not to mention as a Belgian for the time period, its a very odd, unlikely fashion choice.
Well. Don’t know what American media you listen to but newscasters, actors, podcast personalities, etc...all the men do it just as much as the women. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It is definitely not just a woman thing. When researchers got around to studying men they found it occurring at the same rate. The fact that you may only hear it in women, or the fact that it only bothers you when women do it is an entirely other factor.
