This is so true. I am at about the same level in my career as my father was at my age. The interesting thing is that I am making about the same that he was 35 years ago, but with 35 years of inflation against it.

I remember a friend of mine buying a Dodge Neon when they first came out. Two years later it was worth a quarter of what she’d paid for it and she owed a hell of a lot more than that for it.
