That's a great idea! I think this would be a great use of Google Glass if it wasn't so expensive. You could have a recording of all the steps as you go along and reverse them when you are stuck.

There's actually 2 women with OSHA hazards. The one in the lead photo and the one in the purple shirt.
Yea....this is totally not allowed in the Plumbing Code. Although it's perfect if you are making a craft project out of PVC like a soccer goal or something.
I'm pretty sure that this advice has been a title of a past Lifehacker article, which is why I'm surprised that it wasn't mentioned sooner. It's really some of the best advice for purchasing. Does it make sense to buy a $600 tennis racket when you only play tennis a handful of times a year? Probably not. This is one…
I just got my Ergotron dual monitor arm and I love it with one complaint. My desk is up against a wall and I wish the Ergotron had a linear telescoping ability so I could push my monitors straight back sometimes without compensating for the pivoting nature of the mount.

Yea, the perforations allow you to use the same mortar, the translucent color lets you check the mortar coverage under it. I agree with you that Ditra is really easy to use and I like that they have a system of parts that all work together. It's very German and they cover almost every situation.
You could look into using something like Unistrut instead of a 2x4 lagged into the ceiling. It is more expensive, but since it is designed for supporting hanging loads, it is plenty strong and has lots of accessories available to help you create your hanging storage. Also gives you more flexibility to move stuff…
Are you thinking of Laticrete's Strata Mat? That's really the only one I know of right now as well, but I've heard about others. It's slightly cheaper, but looking at a high-res closeup of it, your right that it doesn't key the thinset. It also is vented so it can't act as a waterproofing membrane, which may or may…
Ditra is great, but there are other companies coming out with similar products that are lower cost. Not sure how well they compare as they are still new on the market compared to ditra and other Schluter products.
Thanks for that. It's impressive how much time the formula car gains over the hillclimb car.
I'd contact Ergotron about that. They make great monitor arms and they probably would be able to suggest an option for your glass desk. However they are expensive at around $300 for a dual monitor mount.

Duplicate post. Damnit Kinja!
Thank you for this important but really sad story. I wish I could give you 1000 stars. I don't understand why people are so anti-seatbelt sometimes. It's easy to put on, does not impact your driving comfort negatively in anyway, and will save your life in an accident.
It actually looks like they took a normal car window and tilted it down 20 degrees to get that look. Probably saved on manufacturing costs.
Have you ever been to Oregon? It's like driving with a whole state of Dutch people. Everyone drives at the speed limit or less. If you go 5mph over (which was the minimum speed back in NJ) you end up blowing everyone's doors off. Everyone is also overly nice to the point where they ignore the rules regulating who has…
I know! I almost had to go change my pants when I saw it. If it was in a different color, I would have had a "crisis". It's only $14K! Only 7 more years to save up!
