I have never said it is boring in any way. I was merely referring to the fact that it's fucking unsafe beyond any reason, and then I got shouted for it. I don't see how and why it should be tolerated that anyone is in position to put competitors in grave danger, and here it seems like it's part of the deal. This bit I

Hey, you know what. Perhaps, just perhaps, you should read the comment thread from the start. Then, it is my deepest hope, you would be able to understand this sarcastic comment. I do promise I will use a lot of /s next time, or I might even use a gif to illustrate it.

Why thank you for this lovely contribution, I feel the discussion evolved because of it.

Which part exactly?

Thank you. I assume that also applies to the person I was replying to with this obviously not so obvious sarcastic comment.

I'm not bitching, just trying to understand. This fatality will just add another layer of awesome to this race, because let's admit it, without it the race would be so bloody boring. It's quite evident already "Oh my, a fellow died. But hey, that's the kind of race this is."

Well in the preview to this race Jalopnik kinda made a big thing out of these man made obstacles, or rather, there were no "these things are bad" disclaimers in that preview. What's with all the "OMG how did this happen" now? What was funny and a bit cheeky feature yesterday is completely off the charts today?

Wow. Didn't see that one coming.

This is Jalopnik and Raph is an American. Anything with less than 8 cylinders and 5 liters of displacement (though I should have used cubic inches) is econobox to them. Makes you wonder how they ever learned to love Miata. Or Baja Bug. Personally, I liked your move to defend the R2 rally beasts!

We both agree that these are not econoboxes in any way except they're made to look like one, but Orlove has to play with words and phrases to earn some cash to throw into that funny looking car of his. I don't think anyone would mind having one such econobox in his garage! ;)

Actually they're econoboxes compared to WRC cars or the infamous group B, but I believe Raph was playing with words a bit here, and he did it well. These cars look almost exactly like their road going econobox siblings.

The tarmac monster! I always loved P306 for its design, and when these kitcars first appeared I thought that was it in terms of rally cars. Gorgeous looks, stunning speed and that noise... Also let's not forget the unique driving style associated with these cars. Most accurately described as wrestling. Nice reminder,

Really curious about the cars being featured on various t-shirts. I always thought Ford (in this case) can claim ownership of the design. They (car brands) like to do that in stock photography so I thought same thing applies here. Unless of course these tees are designed with brand's approval.

Of course!

Alfa fan or Audi fan, I presume?

Every time I see a photo of Dubai, I want to apply "Auto contrast" and "Remove color cast" filters to it.

Now playing

Just give it to this guy, preferably to test against, say, Range Rover.

What a lovely invitation for future attempts. Until one of them falls asleep behind the wheel.

Ford Ranger not strong enough to pull what looks to be quite a light car (is it?) back to its wheels?
