That $30K car is also now at about $34K in the 4-5 years. So add that $4K over 4 years and its $80 more a month. Over 6 years its only $55 per month.

Not just kids. Step 1 has to be to teach people that if you make $50,000 at your job per year- you really don’t make $50,000. After Fed/State Income Taxes you’re much closer to $40,000, perhaps less. So budget at $3K per month, not $4k. Too many people spend based upon their gross salary, not their net.
