Thank you so much for breaking this down! As a science-curious but not science-educated person, it takes me ages to even Google this stuff because I have a vague sense of what I'm looking for.

I was in China during Swine Flu and my seasonal allergies nearly got my entire domestic flight quarantined!
Not all parents are in a position to know the laws or to be able to provide enough for working age kids to quit their jobs.
Yeah I read Middlesex over the course of two days of travel by bus and train and a bit on foot. It did not cause me problems. I have no idea what format he found it in.
I do use my Kindle if I’m doing weight-sensitive travel, but it really is different for me. With any kind of denser read, I’ll find myself wanting to track back to an image or a plot point and in a physical book it’s totally seamless because I’ll have a physical memory of about where in the book I was and about where…
No, not good for Sia, this is kinda gross? I mean in the sense that if she suggested hooking up and he didn’t want to, telling the international gossip machine that their working relationship involves both struggling not to fuck and also negging him by calling him an insecure boy is kind of messed up.
I make not a ton of money. My partner and I share a two bedroom so that we have our own rooms. Zero difference in my rent compared to living with a roommate, as I do when single. Ok, a little difference, he makes more money than I do so we split the rent 60/40 instead of 50/50.
Yes to that last sentence! My partner and I have a somewhat milder but still significant cuddling problem (a cuddling habit?) but sleep separately and each have office space in our bedrooms. It is totally an animal thing. There is a type of relaxed that I only get when I am nested in total privacy. I am as relaxed…
I live with my partner and love it, but we’ve had separate bedrooms from the jump. It was his thing initially: he’s a light sleeper and he has a job where a bad night’s sleep leading to lack of alertness could put people in danger. I didn’t mind but it was a first for me and whooooa it’s perfect. I snuggle with him…
My mom’s her age and looks this good too.
I watched Nothing Left Unsaid the day she died and I was so sad for both of them that I had a nightmare about it. He seems like a wonderful person.
The article acknowledges throughout why the artistic choices would have been necessary and then provides some supplemental information that’s really interesting. Hardly a take down.
I was just reading one of the doctors saying that couldn’t be true: https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelshellenberger/2019/06/11/top-ucla-doctor-denounces-depiction-of-radiation-in-hbos-chernobyl-as-wrong-and-dangerous/#6182a0bb1e07
Been wondering the same thing!
Concerned is definitely #1 because having that kind of deranged fandom must be nuts.
So either y’all had a fantastic relationship or you hated each other mercilessly?
For any immediate danger, the correct and only viable solution is to call the police. Even if they responded instantly, a delivery service company can do nothing to help keep you safe. If my mailman threatened me, I would call the police, not the USPS.
I did a quick google but can’t seem to figure out if this movie was already out, is coming out soon, or isn’t doing a wide release at all. I’d like to see it, anyone know?
I agree. I found a good rebuttal from someone who sounds like a better friend: https://medium.com/@whymisssarah/an-open-letter-to-carolyn-murnick-author-of-the-hot-one-a-memoir-of-friendship-sex-and-murder-5e5fef8f8c19
IMO the issue is she set herself up for a “who wore it better” and it’s not a comparison that works in her favor.
