Doesn't this then prevent the ability to open particular files with a certain application by dragging the file on to the application? I suppose it's just changing the default behavior, but I always thought that was a pretty good Windows feature.

Exactly. It's a shared library that Microsoft provides to make developer's lives easier as well as help maintain standards between applications so that all users can benefit from it.
What? Are you serious? How is that confusing? And honestly, you don't really need to know how it works. Just that it does.
KeePass is a perfect example of a great program that requires .NET. LifeHacker has recommended this many times.
You're still technically supposed to pay sales tax (and at your local rate) on the items you buy online if you didn't pay sales tax at the time of purchase. You need to report it on your income taxes. Granted, nearly nobody does this. However, it should still be mentioned that you shouldn't be participating in tax…

@Street Meat Steve: It's because they're not listed as seasons but rather Volumes. It's a bit different, but yes, Netflix does have Family Guy. It's strange to omit it completely and not denote the difference.
It looks like you're missing a platform for Last.fm. You can use the Xbox 360 to stream the service. I think it may be available only if you have an Xbox Live Gold account, but I'm not too certain about that. Either way, it definitely is an additional platform that's available for that service and should be noted…
@DaltonAtlas: You are right on with this analysis. The iPhone just doesn't have the penetration in large corporate environments as do other smart phones. Particularly companies that are Microsoft workplaces with Exchange. Yes, I know that the iPhone supports Exchange, but many IT folks are reluctant to make the…
You do mean to file a revised W-4 right? Not a W-2 which is what employers provide employees and the IRS to show how much you've made.
I'd have to say that it's almost always best to know they have the wrong person, unless the email is of utter unimportance like a chain letter. Something like "What's the best basketball to buy?" would actually be quite important to me and my friends. So I would definitely let someone know that the email was sent to…

I wonder if one of the reasons they decided to not work on bundled apps any further is because of all that stupid anti-trust stuff. Remember when MS tried to bundle IE into the OS. What a nightmare for MS? They don't want the same thing to happen. There are so many competitors in the Windows application world that…

@The Amazing Ant: You could actually just go to microsoft's site and look at their C# Express version. They have tutorials there.
What I find annoying, but funny, is when an email goes out from the company to everyone announcing a promotion or something like that. And then someone decides to reply to all to say their congratulations. The worse though, is when many people start to do that. And then you get that oddball email from someone…
This is a great little tip, especially for those wanting to get into programming. I did notice you mentioning that it "almost wants you to start writing C#." If you find C# too intimidating, I really recommend Visual Basic (VB) because it makes more use of keywords rather than symbols which makes it easier to…
Here's a great excuse to get into some basic programming. This is the exact reason why Microsoft released their Visual Studio Express versions. I'd recommend using Visual Basic Express for something like this.
I know I just posted a comment, but after seeing bigdave914's post about the pyranna, that looks even better than the OpenX. Anyone else try that one out? I may have to myself.
I saw these on a news report once and said, "For a few dollars, what the heck? I'll try one." Now that I have one of these, I actually like it. I know that some people have posted that they don't work, and yes, I had a hard time getting it to work the first few times I used it (I actually sliced my hand on the…
