I think the point is pretty clear? People are coming to the defense of their friend/colleague/mentor. He could be guilty of these accusations. But I think it’s basic human instinct to stick up for those who support us and have been there for us.

It’s not about those who disappeared. It’s about the original Avengers who remain. In A4 Tony and Cap are almost certainly dead. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rhodey die. It’s also hard to see where Thor’s arc is going forward considering he has absolutely nothing left.
