I have and do, and no it isn't

Completely agree on it being their best, but it was championed heavily: it came in the top 5 of that year in most publications iirc, and it got a lot of love and attention from the press and the label (I seem to remember an elaborate dub-mix boxset of the whole album, and multiple CD singles). I even heard the heavily

I can believe it!

Wouldn't it be dependent on the speaker in that case?

I really don't think it could be argued for every pop song ever written… though Paranoid Android is one of my favourite songs, and you could certainly argue it of that

But did they get enjoyment out of specifically those songs, or would they have gotten the same enjoyment out of anything they had heard as many times? For example I wouldn't call anything about Coldplay 'catchy' really, but lots of people still have their songs in their head via exposure and repetition

If Barbie Girl is satire then Crazy Frog is satire. If you'll excuse an analogy (I wouldn't), what you just said is like telling me you think Lunchables should be considered next to actual food: both are products aimed at children using the cheapest methods and ingredients available to quickly produce something that

Earworms, or the mental process that causes earworms, is horrible. If you like a piece of music it serves to grind it down to wearying contempt via mental repetition, and if you don't like something, you're stuck with it. It isn't hard to 'craft' an earworm, they appeal to perhaps the lowest form of musical

With articles like these, there will always be a commenter or two that implores me to take the work of an unlikely artist seriously.

Vanishing Point is a really good album

So what's your point?

Can't it be trying to be shit?

The article argues that this music paved the way for that stuff

Do you know what the term "well-crafted" means or have you just heard it some place? Nookie isn't well crafted at all, it's a terrible, shallow song comprised of 3-4 small ideas stitched unconvincingly together… 'well-crafted' is the last term I would deploy there, it's barely 'crafted'.

I'm sure the rote 'great at parties' line continues to go over great on Reddit, a decade later. I had no idea you were such a shower of complete grandmas, holy mackerel. Enjoy the upvotes

Yeah it didn't work because my post was in context, is what I was saying
(unless I was meant to read it in a squeaky voice?). From your attempted insults though we can assume emotions are running high, so making sense may not be a priority right now. I'll leave you to it Albini

Hmm, some more reading comprehension issues here: I clearly said I would buy a t-shirt and not a CD: this is about CDs remember, I'm not sure where this little story about me not supporting musicians came from. Read back and see if you can find it for me if you want, but this is about CDs being redundant. I even buy

That is what was under discussion, look at the comment I was responding to. I was offering a reason the author may have for derisively sneering at CDs, 'dweeb' (or whatever is equal to 'jerk')

Why don't I just get a t-shirt then, instead of some useless coaster? Then everyone that stares at my moobs will also be the recipient of my endorsement. Bands make their money via merch and vinyl these days (again, assuming they are lucky enough to be anywhere near a point where they are making money).

"Unless you're listening on earbuds, the sound is noticeably inferior." - while discussing digital music formats?
