Is “Animeh” trademarked?
The more I think about it, the more I think it might be necessary. Should a movie like Lady Bird really have to compete with a movie like Wonder Woman ... or, by the same token, should a movie like Wonder Woman have to compete with a movie like Lady Bird? How do you compare a movie that cost $10 million to make with a…
That’s actually a good idea. Studio pictures and indies really are different animals. You really can’t compare them.
Is anyone else disappointed-slash-horrified by the cheesy padded suit? I mean, it looks worse than the padded superhero costume my kid wore on Halloween.
NIAGARA FALLS! I remember it like it was yesterday. Slowly, I turned. Step by step, inch by inch.... (I’m sorry, has someone done that bit already?)
Kazaa. Now, that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time ... a long time.
He’s dressed as the 1970s movie character Billy Jack, for some reason. https://thedissolve.com/features/forgotbusters/593-forgotbusters-billy-jackthe-trial-of-billy-jack/
We’ve just learned that the beloved Minnesota skyscraper raccoon is racist.
I’m from the ’80s. That’s not a tracksuit. It’s a Member’s Only jacket and parachute pants. What can I say? It was an ugly decade.
I remember thinking at the time it was like Ewan McGregor’s scenes had been spliced in from a lighter, much better movie. I blame Lucas. You had terrific actors like Natalie Portman and Samuel L. Jackson giving some of the worst line readings of their careers.
Watching the original Season 4 was like watching the Star Wars prequels; I watched it out of a sense of obligation, not because I actually enjoyed it. The remix is much better. It’s still not great, but it flows better, it makes more sense, and it’s funnier. Also, while it’s great that Netflix gave Hurwitz the money…
Sunday morning Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues in Disney Springs (used to be called Downtown Disney). Good food, good and sometimes great music. Saw the Blind Boys of Alabama there once.
It’s easy to miss, but there’s a Coca-Cola attraction in Epcot called Club Cool where you can try free Coke products from around the world. Some are great, like Kinley, a lemon-flavored soda from Israel.
If you’re an adult, go when the kids are in school. Generally, Orlando is least crowded after Labor Day weekend and before fall break. We went to the Magic Kingdom once a couple of weeks after Labor Day and rode Space Mountain, like, five times in a row. Expedition Everest, too.
I found a story online estimating there are 1.3 million Uber drivers in the U.S. CNN looked at only 20 cities, so this isn’t apples to oranges, but 103 of 1.3 million is 0.0079231%. I’m still looking for statistics on cab drivers.
You CAN see it with the naked eye! Oh, wait. I’m thinking of the comet in Fortnite. Never mind.
“Oh, we’re using our made-up names. Then I am Spider-Man.” That’s funny, right there, I don’t care who y’are.
I second the vote for catching a movie at the Enzian and for taking a road trip to Kennedy Space Center.
I do the same thing. Whenever I drive through a shopping mall, I can’t help but whistle “I Can’t Turn You Loose,” like I’m a Blues Brother.
