I just started Isaiah Berlin's biography/study of Karl Marx. I'm not too far into it, but so far, it's been great. I've wanted to dig into Berlin's work for a while now, and I'm using this book, which is brief and on a subject I find interesting, to test the waters.

Thompson is definitely hit-or-miss, and there are hits and misses even within Campaign Trail '72, but fortunately more hits than misses. And it contains probably his best political writing and shows some rare sunny optimism with the nomination of McGovern.
