3-3 has definitely gotten more boring as it evolved into such a puck possession game of waiting for the perfect scoring opportunity before shooting. The best solution I’ve seen has been to cut the ice down like basketball does. Once you cross the center ice line with the puck, bringing the pack back to your side of it

“But a black man walking towards you is scary?”

I love the root as well however I think their sports related writing needs work. The articles suggesting Richard Sherman and Mike Bennett getting released and traded were for their social activism and not their play/age/contracts are also good examples. Good intentions but seems to miss the mark. I’m mentioning this

Agree 100%, but that’s not Manziel’s fault. And he’s taken more of a stand here in his Twitter comments than practically any white player currently playing in the league. I think the headline and article are deceiving and somewhat unfair to a guy who spoke truth to power.

Anyone BLACK! Not just anyone. Let’s not forget the white people suspected of doing some of the most atrocious shit imaginable and taken into custody without harm (even given food). Let’s not forget these motherfuckers who got into a shootout with police:

Exactly, I was thinking the exact same thing reading this. Dude said all he needed to say - makes no sense for him to go about rehashing his fuck ups, seems that the implication is: This guy is getting blackballed for doing the right thing, so don’t compare him to me (SUBTEXT: I was out of the league because I fucked

He stepped up and said plainly what the deal is, I don’t see what the heartburn is. He seems to get it, it’s the rest of this racist ass country doesn’t. Hell I’d be tired of being compared to somebody else to if I know he’s doing the right thing and I’m just looking for a job.

yeesh this is a really bad piece

I know this is a tough one, but your colleagues and bosses will respect you more if you fix this.

you’re a dick for “Fox News-ing” this article and conveniently leaving out the tweet of note wherein Manziel clearly suggests Kap would be in the league were it not for his protests, thus the comparisons aren’t valid. real dick move, kind of the reason the Root gets labeled (unfairly IMO) a race-baiting site.

Yes they can. They’ll say because it happened while he was president, it was different. They’ll also draw a distinction between an intern and a pornstar.

Skipping over the rest of it, if you have memories of marching in the 1960s, you’re being quite generous in describing yourself as “middle-aged.”

I mean I get your point, but JFK was screwing interns two at a time in the White House pool. LBJ used to fuck people on the floor of the oval office. And we all know what Clinton did.

Top notch job leaving out the most relevant tweet. Either a piss poor job or an omission on purpose to try to make this article about something that it clearly isn’t. Hope there’s some follow up on this one.

Its weird. Deadspin has all the tweets, including the nonfootball reasons one.

Manziel said EXACTLY why he’s getting looks and Kap isn’t. You’ve literally misrepresented what Manziel said. Were you just assuming no one has reading comprehension skills?

Fix this, you can do better man

You got this one wrong. Manziel makes it clear that his frustration with comparisons between himself and Kap is that Kap is the better man and the better quarterback but still can’t get a fair shake in the NFL. Your article makes it out exactly the opposite.

“This, folks, is what has people making the comparisons between the two players. And Manziel would be wise to take note as to why that is.”

I really hope that was an honest omission and not intentional. It came in the middle of the thread...
