If you can’t believe an anonymous person on the internet, who can you believe?

Did we learn nothing from the UVA story? A completely anonymous person reports an incredible story - literally 4 guys just decided to up and rape her essentially because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time - I feel like, SOME amount of “confirming your sources” has to occur before advancing the story.
