I saw it today. This was a lot to sit through but I did like it more than Knight of Cups. Malick's shtick is starting to wear thin

So American History X is basically: Tony Kaye made a movie, Edward Norton somehow gutted it in editing, the movie still was acclaimed, but Kaye went cray and basically got blackballed?
