Great analogy.

I own a base model and at no point have I been tempted to upgrade to an S. Sure, it’s faster, but the base model is so good that it never seems worth the price bump to go to the S. I don’t blame anyone for shelling out for the S, but to me I get so much out of the base that I never feel like I’m missing out enough to

Here’s a tip from a VW owner. If you’re buying a VW old enough to be out of warranty: the minute you get it home, go over to Ross Tech and buy VCDS, and go over to Bentley Publishers and purchase the appropriate repair manual. It’s less a question of if they’ll be necessary, but when.

The real question is - why make an interference engine at all?

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why German automakers will use plastic parts for sensitive applications. Whether its plastic timing chain guides in VAG products or plastic water pumps on BMWs, its all a terrible idea. Yes metal costs a bit more, but the added security is well worth it.

Any product can have a part that was accidentally made improperly. That’s what warranties are for. But the bizarre damage to a week-old car makes me wonder what REALLY happened here. Anything can be pushed past its breaking point.

That car was trying to kill you!

Wild

My knee-jerk reaction was to judge, but... Thinking back, younger me did shit at least as stupid as this and I was just a lot luckier.

I think so. The Hueys are old and ready for retirement, and the Firehawks carry a lot more water in their drop tanks so they're more effective.

They just bought a bunch of Blackhawks from my company for aerial fire fighting. After the mod they’re called Firehawks.

As proven at this past weekend’s autox event, the regular C8's are already stupidly, fucking quick.

Who is still shopping for an Acura NSX Ford GT with this on the way?

It’s way more common than you think. Back in my riding days I had a CBR600RR, and I thought that was way more than enough. But all the cool kids had to have the shiny R1. The thinking with a lot of guys is “you’re just going to outgrow that small engine in a few months, get the 1000cc and keep it longer”

I can’t imagine buying a liter bike as a first time motorcycle rider. Decades ago, I briefly owned a 125cc (or perhaps 175cc) bike and that would lift the front wheel in the air just changing into second gear.

The paint on the window from the auction house says “DWI Victim”.

In the video you see that the the window says “DWI Victim” on it, and the old owner covers the crash a little bit. Some drunk asshole hit him.

According to the video this one was wrecked by another vehicle and a DUI was issued...

Exactly. When I bought my (new to me) 89 Mustang GT convertible 26 years ago, I babied the hell out of it, and was paranoid that someone would hit me at every intersection for the first two weeks.

You’d be astounded by how many people total cars literally as soon as they pull off the lot. It’s unbelievable to see it happen in person. But that happens to every brand and every model, not just sport cars. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that someone wrecked a C8 that quickly
