Yeah but on the plus side he got on YouTube for his 15 minutes of fame!

One of the problems to making a revival is all the govt regulations , e.g., bumper protection, airbags...on and on. I think the Mini pilled it off best - you knoiw it is modern, but you know where iot came from. The Thunderbird was worst -

I was watching this video last night. The host was saying how special these trucks are. I sorta got it - I mean, while I am not a 4x4 fan I can understand the appeal of early Broncos and Blazers.

But what is so special about a 1980 duelie crew-cab GMC with 20,000 miles and a gas-sucking 454? Besides being low mileage?

Now **that** is a truck. Not some tarted-up $60,000 truck with every creature comfort that you’re afraid to scratch.

Only think that is lacking is a first gen MR2. Had mine for 27 years - never a boring drive.

I’ve been meaning to do this on my garage for...15 years? And preparation is the key. Good for you for following through.

I got even though. Years later, I sold it to a friend whose son promptly wrecked it

I am not a professional mechanic - and closing in on 70 a lot of the heavy DIY I am leaving - but this is a story from some years ago involving my then 1986 Mercedes-Benz 300E and my effort to change the motor mounts. Should have been a simple straightforward job, Ja?
*******

I heard it said that the 944 is what the 924 should have been from the beginning.

That is one serious cooling fan.

I know how you feel. I had a 1986 300E Mercedes - went on several cross country drives with me, through thick and thin. I had almost 400,000 miles on it. Sold it and the new owner’s son promptly wrecked it.

I wonder if they are retiring the Hueys. They are really an amazing operation. During fire season they position their aircraft around the state strategically.

CalFire is pretty amazing. We took a tour there once. They will take an old military airplane, completely strip it and in some cases reengineer it. The hotrodded a Huey, putting on different rotors and an Apache engine, and Bell helicopter liked it so much they started offering it. They use a lot of Broncos from

I haven’t even seen one on the road yet...

Every time I was leaning towards getting a bike I’s see some poor shlub with a sheet over him in an intersection. But getting a liter bike as a first bike? Beyond stupid.

How is that a badge of honor? I was surprised at the news here of the C8 Corvette crashing on the way home from the dealer, but someone said he was hit by a DWI driver.

I’ve read of Hellcat owners crashing on the way home from the dealer.

Then he is excused

Amazing what cars can do these days. Even 20 year old ones. I have a 1996 SL500 and was told without the 150 mph governor it could do 170.

I’m still incredulous that people are wrecking them already and they have hardly been out on the market. Like the drive home from the dealer in a Hellcat, I guess.

I had a 1st gen Toyota MR2 for 27 years - it was a blast to drive - and people were always asking me if it was a Fiero. My opinion on the Fiero - GM finally got it dialed in - IIRC there was even a Spyder prototype - and they cancelled it.
