It is in a dark garage; I don’t think they would turn out well

In my neighborhood, we have a house that has been emoty for over 20 years. The husband died, wife moved out and left his 944 in the garage - where it has sat all this time.

So you are saying that it is a Japanese Cadillac Cimarron ?

Pretty cool! He has the talent and the tools.....Always loved the old duck tail spoiler. The whale tail was a bit over-the-top IMO

Ferdinand “Ferry” Porsche was distainful towards owners who did not drive their cars. Story is he was at a PCA National Concours and this owner was so proud of his very early 911. Had very few miles, looked “Better than new”.

And Porsche, upon seeing it, smiled and said “My cars were meant to be driven”.

I can’t think of a sillier car - a 300 mph car.

Get the Model 3 on time first

Maybe I missed that claim of a “30 minute recharge time”. To tell you the truth Musk better concentrate on delivering the Model 3 to people, or he will get a reputation of promising everything and delivering little.

I have a 1st gen MR2 with the excellent 4A-GE engine. 1.6 DOHC that was even used in Formula Atlantic long after it ceased in passenger cars. Was first used in the AE 86 from 1983. I wonder if this came about as a result of the Nissan engine (1984 in the Japanese market).

Never can get used to the (to me) strange

A Mercedes engine of the 80s (M103 and M104; (same block and different heads) had a similar problem, but at around 100,000 miles. The coolant and oil passages were close together at the end of the block, and the block was cast iron and head aluminum. Over time the oil passage on the gasket would expand to the point it

I drove an Opel Corsa in Germany in 1992 - a rental. About the size of a roller skate with (IIRC) an 1100 cc motor - it cruised on the Autobahn at 100 mph.

Was he standing on the horn? Then I will give him the asshole award. Just a couple of quick taps? Then the cop gets the award.

Why I put this stunt into the “why?” category and a bit nuts - that same day Rudolf Caracciola made his record the driver for Mercedes-Benz, Bernd Rosemeyer driving for Auto Union (now Audi) hit a gust of wind way in excess of 200 mph and was killed. He had completed a run of 268 mph.

Imagine having a blow out at 270 mph - or a gust of wind hitting you. That is how (then) Auto Union’s Bernd Rosenmeyer was killed trying for a speed record...

Some of these efforts of weight reduction seem a bit silly to me. Never will forget a story about one of the (then) top F1 teams (McLaren?) gave to a US Spark Plug company (Champion I presume) - GET THE WEIGHT DOWN FROM THE SPARK PLUG. Don’t know how much time and effort was expended in the venture and in the end the

Well I suppose if you consider the Ranchero to be a “truck” - like the el camino it was a car chassis with a pickup bed

Original 911 Porsche. After 54 years still fresh. Original E Type Jag. Ditto. Man i could go on and on.

I’ll go with door #2 or door #4. Get a mini truck like a Toyota Tacoma. Tough, and useful.

You can eliminate a lot of that using a Top Tier gasoline, such as Chevron. I have seen first hand what its cleaning additives do to the engine internals.
