I would very much like more movies in this universe. I mean, they’re basically big budget adaptations of the Showa-era Godzilla movies, which is fantastic, IMO. I won’t rest until we somehow see Legendary’s take on Jet Jaguar. I get that Toho wants to make their own movies again, which I respect, but...y’all, Legendary

Yeah that and harassing people. But from what I’ve see, Kaiju fans know that the movies are silly and have a sense of humor about themselves, unlike Snyder fans.

What’s everyone making lately? Eastern Orthodox Easter is still a month away, but my family appropriated these Greek Easter cookies for the huge tray of cookies my mom always made for Catholic Easter. I’ve gone rogue on the recipe. The original has a subtle lemon flavor, but my version is more of a Wake up tastebuds!

Godzilla vs. Megalon was the first Godzilla movie I ever saw, and I fucking loved it.

Attack All Monsters is a favorite of mine because the dub is funny to me, “Godzilla says I should fight my own battles”.

With the radioactive big guy, everything is fall-out!

Hello! Godzilla was great, but Gamera was a huge influence on me when I was growing up. He taught me how to be a friend to all the children, and to imagine a world without wars and traffic accidents. Thank you!

I'd throw in the OG Mothra as well.  I love how it's almost an Indy style jungle adventure for the first half.

I did an entire franchise watch in the lead up to GvK (not just Showa), and these thought pretty much echo my own.  I didn't get to see the Japanese cut of KKvG, so I have it much lower in my list, and I prefer the less stuffed Ghidorah movies over DAM, but I liked most of them to some degree.  I love that most of the

Godzilla to a kid is basically an avatar of their secret desires. Mainly, free-reign to smash toys (preferrably someone else’s) and play with fireworks without restraint or consequences. So, I don’t think it’s too surprising that a lot of kids were attracted to this franchise at a very young age, especially since the

This is correct.

The proper ranking is, they’re all good, even the two or so that are bad. Megalon and Gigan are pretty threadbare, but they have their moments. Even Godzilla Raids Again is interesting, they didn’t quite have the formula nailed down and the human focus is on the workers at a fishing company, and how their livelihood

I gotta be honest; I’ve never really been convinced by this kind of deconstruction. I mean, I get why people do it, why people feel the need to dig into characters like Batman and see what makes then tick and question them. But frankly, questioning whether Gotham City really needs Batman or whether he does more harm

THE AV CLUB

Given the labor conditions in sneaker factories, I’m sure most sneakers come with a drop or more of human blood.

Kong’s fight with a T. rex becomes an eye-popping blow-out with two T. rexes.

Legolas “surfing” the steps on a shield.

It took until 2017 for a somewhat not terrible depiction of Skull Island natives.... think about that for a moment...

We got into this show during the beginning of the pandemic.  I looked all over here assuming there’d be reviews for episodes and was sad to not find any.  I’m glad that AVC is covering it, even as it leaves the air.
