Prequelmemers. They shatposted themselves into loving those films.

The damn press is still doing it too! Just yesterday Politico ran an article with a headline like, “Mike Pompeo says the transition to Trump’s next term in January will be smooth.” That headline gives credence to all the shit-spewing these shit-goblins are doing! Media framing is important, and our dumbass media

Years ago, I was introduced to the term “trailer pants” by a weird-ass metalhead shut-in from PA. He described trailer pants as something in the ballpark of those cheap pajama pants you buy at Walmart and wear exclusively in the trailer you rent periodically for hunting trips when you don’t want to put your grubby ass

Got dang, I can feel that recipe clogging my arteries just reading it! It sounds wonderful :)

Also, since Barr pushed this memo, DOJ’s elections crime chief resigned because he thinks this is immensely stupid.

I’ve been wondering something. Does Trump a) believe that voter fraud actually occurred because his ego is so massive that he can’t imagine losing otherwise; b) not believe that voter fraud occurred but is following through on the strategy he telegraphed for months ahead of the election; or c) believe that voter fraud

Very much aware of this fact.

Full support. We need good, compassionate people excited to do good work all throughout the federal government.

The Economist has some pretty interesting models that are giving even better odds to Biden (~96%). I’ve kept an eye on theirs and 538's because The Economist leans right-wing and uses slightly different metrics.

I may have missed it, but how did they get to the venue in the first place? Did the shuttles drop them off beforehand?

Yes, that’s the user who started it. You can probably work backwards from there!

I’ll look for it! I think a lot of the comments/profiles and other media are now deleted, so it won’t have the same impact it did then, but I’ll see what I can dig up. I think there was a wiki at some point.

That’s really cool! I don’t think that was even on my radar at the time.

Now that I think about, Marble Hornets’ Slender Man series may be one of the first projects of this type, or at least the first big one to really demonstrate its reach.

I don’t really use any social media (aside from, y’know, Kinja and Disqus), but I like this idea, and I’ve thought for years that this interactive form of storytelling through multimedia was one of the coolest potential uses of the internet/social media. I think my first encounter with this was the Bloodstains series

That stuck out to me too!

Imagine being so devoid of passion that seeing genuine joy in something sparks suspicion.

Yes, good point. It’s clearly a business choice. My wording was intended to show that they can’t do it without compromising their popularity and data feeds, so they haven’t found a way to effectively regulate while still being profitable.

To highlight something noted in the article, Facebook isn’t going to wrest control of its platform from the hate groups and bad actors until it finds a way to better regulate private groups, pages, meme content, etc. And if it exerts that amount of control, I don’t think people will stay.

I absolutely plan to but haven’t made time yet (I know). My wife is a physician, so just got stuck walking through the door one day.
