Humans are a complicated bunch. I think this is an admirable feat and he deserves recognition for that fact. I also think his personal life is pretty disgusting and your assessments of that are correct. Terrible people can, unfortunately, do great things, just as much as great people.

Maybe Tiger Woods winning a major is the thing that kept the world in check?

I don’t know. Looked like they were phoning it in to me.

OK....shot....full reveal that will make me seem like a bigger asshole than I actually am. I’ve played maybe 100 rounds with a professional golfer who is presently ranked as 1 of the top 5 golfers in the world. Said professional played with Cadet Bone Spurs when he was invited to do so recently. 2 things stuck out

God, the Trumpites will fucking defend this guy for every single crappy thing he does, regardless of whether it’s political, or personal, doesn’t fucking matter.

It’s crazy how many embarrassing Grunfeld things you can list without even mentioning how he bungled a 3-team trade by not communicating which guy named Brooks the other team was talking about.

The 10 feet over the rim thing is meaningless. Durant was holding him, and there is no “uncatchable” rule in basketball.

Yeah, halfway through the article I was like “I see where this is going, they T up Steph and the Wolves hit freethrows to win” but the truth is even weirder.

“Today the US Attorney brings charges against Michael Avana.... Avanti... Avennnot gonna practice law anymore, anyway.”

The obvious comparison for Ionescu’s stats supremacy and her frank demeanor would be Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook

Wait, she’s complaining about espn’s lack of coverage, after playing a game on espn, and then getting interviewed on live tv by them after the game?

Goddamn, I love watching players getting fired up like that. Makes any sport better to watch.

“I am not saying it was definitely the right move; I am wondering how you can already be so sure that it is was definitely the wrong move.”

2000 is rightly remembered as having the lamest draft class in NBA history, but did you know it also had the lamest trade deadline in history? Here’s the entire list of trade deadline deals from that year:

having long accepted that his basketball operation is run with all the wisdom and attention of a dog startling itself out of sleep by farting on its own nose

I don’t understand the narrative that people doubted this team could win. I don’t think anyone doubted that. I think far more people were resigned to that fact, disgusted by the inevitability, but no one doubted it.

When they give up the simplistic idea that the only way to be anti-owner is to overpay 3-5 players every year instead of stumping for higher salaries for all players, including minor leaguers.

“Well, sir, you’re polling 2% and becoming a laughingstock without a chance in hell of convincing anyone else to support you, so you might as well stop paying me these enormous sums of money now.”

As a longtime Rockets fan, I loathed the Sonics. They and the Jazz were our playoff nemeses and I loved to bitterly hate them.

This guy sold the Sonics to some crooks and rednecks in OKC and then claimed he didnt have the money to really keep the team. For that alone he should always be shunned and mocked.
