on the show, Sir Davos would get my vote for sure - he’s an elevated commoner who would rule with the people’s best interests in mind.

if it’s a thermally-activated label, i wonder if you could microwave them or insert them in a cup of just-boiled water to get the same result? i’ll have to try that...
i mean, i shouldn’t really write this down since it’ll probably get me rounded up and thrown in a cage but, if i really knew when i woke up in the morning that it would absolutely for sure 100% be my last day on earth, i would definitely pull some kind of crime spree-type shit.
cleaning as you go is probably the biggest improvement i’ve made in my cooking evolution - as i dump ingredients out of the prep bowl, i try to get them rinsed out and in the drying rack as soon as i’m done giving the pot or pan it’s first stir with the new ingredients.
i think you can just soak it in a bucket of vinegar, then scrub out to remove a lot of the rust.
thank you!
thanks, to you and everyone else who offered recipe suggestions (especially this cheesy quinoa idea, which sounds pretty intriguing on its own). i don’t think i’ve ever tried kale in a soup before, so that in particular sounds like an interesting way to enjoy some gnocci.
now i kind of want a cheap-o brie and butter sandwich on jimmi johns submarine roll. i’ve had one on a real baguette - and they’re amazing! - but i’m wondering how the creamy brie and butter would pair with what is, essentially, crusty white bread since those day-old rolls they sell for 50 cents do make excellent…
the vinegar base.
at one of the few local places that carried the veggie patty, i had to specifically ask the sandwich people to only cook mine for about 45 seconds, because if they followed “the rules” it would turn into an overcooked hockey puck.
go nation-wide with the veggie patty (Veggie Max) instead of offering it as one of the few franchise options. to capitalize on the number of people who want filling meatless options.
any actual recipes for kale that result in tasty food?
yeah, the pirates field is a great ballpark - sweet view of the river, cool breezes on hot days, just great atmosphere all around. hell, i’m a brewers fan in wisconsin and i even had people compliment me on my brewers hat with the old school mitt “mb”logo, and pirates fans hate the brewers.
“Jeanine Pirro and her naked Islamaphobia”? guarantee that’s a porn quicker than all the “Nailin’ Palin” stuff was.
if you’re willing to go outside the Big Two comics publishers, i’d say the Modern Age of Comics takes over from the Bronze Age with the Pulitzer Prize for MAUS.
that cover art - particularly the shouting beardo wearing sunglasses in the background - really reminds me of a book i caught a couple issues of back in the early 2000s. some indy title, with a dude who wore elton john sunglasses escaping from jail or something and sometimes imagined himself as a frog wearing clothes..…
sometimes the american pysche is really just laid right out there for everyone to see.
it’ll mean waiting about a year or so but the public library is probably your friend - i’ve watched S1 of Discovery and S1+S2 of The Good Fight in the last month, all courtesy of my local public library’s interlibrary loan system.
it’s been more than 30 years since i worked as a dishwasher and it was, hands down, the worst job i ever worked. (i technically walked out on the student loan collection agency job during the training session so that doesn’t count... i’m still paying on my student loans, so i just couldn’t bring myself to hassle other…
i can legit believe this. i never developed much of a taste for pork chops because my mom (still!) makes them the way my dad likes them, overcooked and dry as fuck. one time he wasn’t gonna be home for supper and she made them with Shake N Bake and they were incredible, moist and juicy and delicious. a couple weeks…
