AND NOW I NO LONGER HAVE A REPLY BUTTON AFTER THE ARTICLES. I AM GOING TO ASSUME THIS MEANS THAT I AM BANNED! REALLY. PICK YOUR BATTLES PEOPLE, I HAVE PICKED MINE. I AM GOING TO BED. FU.
It boggles the mind that Jordan Sargent is still here, considering he is pretty much singularly at fault for everything that has gone down at Gawker the past few months.
They have gotten rid of several good writers in the past month, I am thinking especially of Mark Shayber (sp?). But have kept people like Jordan Sargent on, and after seeing that Degas painting move (something I will never be able to unsee) in such a context, this “writer”. I wonder how this will all turn out for…
He’s coming too? Roger that.
Yeah, I don’t understand why / how she is still here when she clearly hates the readers and is so completely rude to them.
OMFG, she is awful! It is almost as if I can feel the Narcissistic Personality Disorder sweating through her glands. I actually had to stop reading. How can a person, who’s job it is to write for a blog that is driven by clicks, be so dismissive and mean to her readers. How does she still have a job? OMFG!
CreamDeCrop > Kara Brown
She’s horrible. Have you seen her replies to commenters on the “Giant Women Gripe About Being Tall” story? That day she was ridiculing people for being offended by the shitty tone of the story (i.e., telling people what they don’t get to be offended by): http://jezebel.com/giant-women-gr…
It happened by Kara Browns second posting. At first I was a little confused, I had assumed you had to make a racist, homophobic, xenophobic, or some other like comment. Little did I know that Ms. Brown was so sensitive that even a simple opinion would get you dismissed.
I am going to take the fact that I was banished back to the greys at the same time we hit loggerheads as a coincidence and not Gawker Media trying to quiet dissent (as minor as it maybe) I could understand if I had been racist or dismissive, but I was neither. The perfect way to show your hand, eh?
Who doesn’t need some white woman living in NYC to tell a person of another race and culture how to feel about their media representation?
“I’m not sure that you get to tell an Asian woman what Asian stereotypes she gets to be offended by.”
I am not one to try to take away someones agency and I am sorry if it seemed that way. I was giving my view on the situation and the fact that I find a bar named “Chop Suey” more offensive then the term “sidekick”. When I hear the words “Chop Suey” all I can think about is that racist musical.
I am part Asian (Korean) and female. And back in the greys it would appear...
Isn’t at little bit disingenuous to be complaining about racial stereotyping when your band’s album release show is at a place with such a racially charged name as “Chop Suey”? How many Asian-Americans have had to endure some variation of that mocking our perceived first language? If you want to play a place called…
Sorry, but it seems to be reaching. If they had referred to her as a “dragon lady” or “lotus blossom”, I could understand. But then again I am not her.....
I am Asian American and I find this inoffensive. She frequently collaborates with a more famous person, I think that “sidekick” is an apt description.
Honestly, that has to be the last thing that came to this part Asians mind. I would of taken offense at the words “Macklemore” and “hella”.
Probably on the issue of whether or not he was guilty of the charges.
