I don't know that I agree. Yes, I had heard that pregnant women shouldn't drink, but I didn't become aware of FAS until my years in teacher education. I think it's perfectly valid to point out that this study does not give women free license to drink as much as they like.

I had never heard that the written novel was worried about. I know that people worried and criticized when the dime novels came out, but novels in general? News to me.
