The way all these apps work is it routes the messages through your phone and to the app due to your messages being encrypted. Hence scanning the code from your phone so the phone knows the shared secret with your desktop app/web app. It’s a minor inconvenience for a lot of gain (encrypted messages).

I can’t agree more. Classical music or audio books work best for me. I also realized I drive more relaxed and am lighter on the gas pedal. So I’m more relaxed, less stressed and save gas and therefore money. Man, that’s a HUGE win in my book!
