You know what takes up less space? A column shifter. I agree, I dislike the buttons in the current Tahoe/Suburban, but not nearly as much as I hate audi’s shifter.

Nooooooo. Those rotary shifters are awesome. They take up almost zero space in the front and I’ve never had an issue in multiple Ford rentals. When I need a big SUV rental, the Expedition is my go to and the dial shifter is literally part of that. The GM buttons are much more annoying to get used to, which puts the

I’ve been seeing a growing number of small businesses with Mavericks (pool cleaners, landscaping, painters, etc) around town and some of my clients/contractors have been ordering them too. The Maverick is excellent for those folks who just want a truck bed to house basic equipment for easy access.

Man Fuck HOAs.

Imagine you are an adult, you buy a house only for some asshole boomers tell you what you can and can’t do with your property. Why the hell do people buy houses in HOA?

They’re trucks.  Who cares?

I mentioned this some 10 years ago when this same issue came up. I was visiting my niece who was living in a Birmingham HOA neighborhood. Her family was moving to a new home and I brought my pickup to see what I could fit into it. A man standing across the street from her home charged at me pointing his finger and

Racism. They first formed as an easy way to make an entire neighborhood whites only. After the Civil Right Act passed, all the racists had to find new ways to either keep people out they don’t like or sue/fine the ones who get through into the ground. The same reason American states have been slowly passing CROWN Act

My insurance guy was baffled as to why I had multiple cars. I’m like, is that really uncommon for 1 person to have more than 1 car lol. Like I know I’m not rich, but I have a car that will be worth quite a bit in the coming years that I want to keep running forever, and 1 that will just eat most of the miles.

We ran into this with our HOA years ago. My wife and I each had two cars, one daily one fun. Not unusual. The HOA said we were violating the guidelines because we had.... too many people living in our unit.

Racism. After segregation was struck down, they had to get more creative in keeping “undesirables” out of their neighbourhoods.  They could no longer put a “no coloreds” clause in the housing contracts, but they could form an HOA that could judge whether you’re a “good fit for the community” and could hassle you right

You could not pay me enough money to move to that hurricane-slammed, sinkhole-afflicted, lying fascist-governed hellhole of a state.  It simply doesn’t exist.

Pretty easy to explain the origin of a gated community having that specific rule. I do kind of like how now that conservative culture requires massive pickup trucks it’s backfired on them.

Time for someone to leave their pickup in their driveway and take the HOA to court. It’s that simple. The HOA does not supersede the state, much as they might want to.

Listen, I think the culture of leather equipped luxury pickups is stupid, too, but that’s neither here no there. These HOA’s are just inane and enforcing bylaws that keep people from parking a personal vehicle in their own driveways is just obscene.

FUUUUUUUUCK HOA’s. They are like the police, enacted to serve a good and noble purpose but attract absolute assholes with inferiority complexes.

Our HOA has a rule similar to this. It was originally put in to limit “work trucks” because at the time most pick up trucks were contractors and the community wanted to limit home businesses and storing equipment/work trucks on their driveway. It’s not enforced on family trucks here, just contracting vehicles (vans,

Some residents have taken to parking their trucks in a pay lot over half a mile from the neighborhood”

I don’t know who is dumber. The HOA board who came up with this rule, or the residents who have to pay $500 a year to park their trucks half a mile away.

Basically, the HOA is saying that the state law lacks the language that would enforce them to not enact the pickup rule against the residents
