I have no idea, I know NASCAR requires that the tracks have the SAFER barrier to hold races. So that could have something to do with it.

The Drag strip does, think the track runs about once a month on the oval side. The drag side does Wild Wednesday for drag racing. (Which hasn’t helped much)

I was just there last year for the U.S. Nationals, and it was fine. The track and and Dragstrip share an isle basically.

I mean, I’m spit-balling here, bit they could I guess just run a starting program for the engine similar to how VW did DG. Engine knows at the start that it needs let’s say 4,500 RPM at start, so the little lights show up, drivers revs and holds. Boom, perfect start.
