I can definitely tell the difference between 30 and 60. Or so I thought. There is a smoothness that becomes apparent after 40fps. I actually think the ideal framerate for performance is 40-45 fps. So back to my opening sentence, upon testing, I can easily tell the difference between 30 and 40 fps, I can’t easily tell

Really depends on people’s eyes, but nothing wrong with yours. I’m the same way myself I am more likely to see a sudden change in framerate than I am going to be able to tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps.

I made the joke to some friends that I kinda felt graphics have maxed themselves out, and as you said, I might as well have taken a shit on their carpet.

Only vaguely related, but: am I the only person who just doesn’t ‘get’ high framerates? Like, sure, I can tell the difference between 10 and 30, but 30 to 60 is more or less negligible, and 60 to higher is damn near imperceptible to me (as a difference from 60, I mean - I’m not implying that I somehow lose the ability

Long as there’s a Tim Horton’s within walking range, I’m good..

I got fucked by a dealer. Do I get a movie?

I'm coming too, but don't worry there's plenty of space so we won't ever talk.

I’m aggressively disinterested.

Reading this article my face was like this the whole time:

So basically it’s a prequel to Pixar’s “Cars” series?

what if I told you the dad was a Nissan Versa?

Agreed. I can’t count the number of times I’ve hopped on another person’s car, and they get that aha moment while in the passenger seat. I’ve also been on the flip side where I’ve had even faster drivers than me take mine for a run, and it’s eye opening when they find places that cut more time.

Ah yeah I gotcha. That’s totally fair. Not everyone enjoys everything. Hope you are still having fun with that car in other ways!

I’ve never track raced. Autocross was all I ever did. I take your point but counter by saying ..I just don’t do it. In the end it wasn’t fun - it was stressful. Of course that’s just me.

And if you can, ride along with someone fast. Having fast people in your passenger seat is great, but it still is tough to break through the mental block that causes people to under-drive the car despite the passenger saying “go faster.” Riding with someone fast will recalibrate your brain real quick and you’ll

How many laps do you guys normally get in per heat?

I would say as part of prepping is also removing any loose items in the cabin and trunk. The last thing you want is said loose item to bang around and damage the car, or you. :p
