You get a star just for the name.  Also I agree.

Nice idea! I’ll suggest a Panther-era Lincoln Town Car (or more specifically, a Town Car-based limo). Plenty fancy, plentiful parts availability and not too expensive to maintain. An old Roller will kill you on maintenance and repairs.

This so works! And also, it wouldn’t even really be a name change. Chef is the French word for Chief.

That’s my hazy recollection as well, a kind of futuristic noir detective mystery.  My biggest recollection of it was the flying car that the detective flies around town in.  You would get a numeric code from whoever you were interviewing, and you’d type it into the keypad in the car and it would place a waypoint on

Agreed. It’s like why F-16's still use DLT tapes for their mission and nav data.  Well-understood, can operate under extreme conditions, easy to maintain.

Oh I surely do. But I miss those kinds of manuals today. Those things were actually well-written and taught you how the system worked! I got my CNE just reading all of those books and taking the tests.  One thing Novell got right was their documentation.

Oh man. NetWare 286. Nothing like compiling your device drivers into the OS *on the installation floppies* themselves.

You may be thinking of MS Office around that time period - it was around 25 disks or so. Win 3.11 was under 10 I think.

I remember that game!

Not the OP, but he may have been just referring to the seemingly constant rain and prefers AWD for wet weather.  But I wouldn’t consider it a must have, and I do live in the Seattle area.

+1 would watch

Haha!  Ouch.

I’m with you on that. I get frustrated with the automatic setting and end up just setting it exactly how I want it with the manual controls about 50% of the time.

And does their voice recognition work equally well in other languages or with a strong accent?

“to access the part you wish to replace, first remove these six other things that are in the way”

Trolls, bots and fake accounts, man. They’re everywhere. You’re right, that would be a gigantic red flag for a potential candidate. Maybe they don’t think anyone will bother to go read their posts, just look at group membership and leave it at that.  “oh, you were active in the Cloud Computing SIG for 10 years. Great!”

Man you should edit those a bit and post them on YouTube! May be of valuable help to someone else someday. Plus, your narration might be good for a laugh (just voiceover or edit out embarrassing bits or private stuff)

Both excellent choices.  Especially the Nick Drake.

Oh snap, I always thought Flaming Lips wrote that song, no idea it was a cover!  Mind blown.
