First thing on my mind when I saw it, too: “Oh look, there’s an actual Batmobile.”

So true. There’s one section of my commute where I pretty much always get into the far right lane and fly past the traffic. The right lane was resurfaced in the last couple years due to the large volume of trucks going up this hill, and is much smoother concrete than the other cracked, bumpy and rutted lanes, too! Win

Here’s the thing, though. In most states, it’s not just etiquette. It’s the law. I don’t know what state you are from, but here in Washington it was actually emphasized in driver’s ed (at least back in the stone age when I took it).

Are you from the UK? That sticker is backwards for the US...

That’s nice, very nice, but please, PLEASE let us hear it while driving. These sound so much better actually driving (even calmly!) than just sitting still revving.

I learned to drive first on a manual Datsun station wagon. The first time I had to drive my mom’s automatic Monte Carlo it freaked me right out!

The hell? Should’ve reported that officer. That’s crazy bad advice!

Correct; the Maxima (until recently) had the drivetrain out of the Z, originally the 2.4L straight 6 out of the 240Z.

I’ve had better luck with Nissan reliability-wise than Toyota (I’ve owned 3 Nissans, a Datsun, and 2 Toyotas over the years, along with a few Chevys and Fords), and from friends with many Hondas, they seem about on-par as well, not dramatically better and perhaps somewhat worse. I’ve gotten two Nissans up over 300,000

I still love my 350Z. And my ‘02 Sentra commuter is about to click over 350k miles. Still runs like a champ. My ex-wife’s ‘98 Pathfinder is well over 300k and still running well, too.

You just haven’t driven enough bad cars. No, that’s not a defense of the Rouge, and I’m no fan of them, but I’ve driven much worse cars (looking at you, FCA).

Thanks, dad.

Amen.

Yeah, notice the wrinkled fabric on the passenger-side dash above the glove box. That car is tweaked to hell.

Correct, which is why you need a clutch when your wheels are at 0 RPM.

That’s also why clutches and torque converters are a thing. Starter motors help spin the motor to compress the first charge so it can fire and get the motor running, but clutches (and torque converters in automatic transmissions) are what allow you to apply torque from the moving engine once it’s running to a

I’d like to know what time you’ll be getting here.

Do it!! Take some pictures for us!

That piece of paper is a $10,000 bill as you hand it to a decent mechanic. So literally correct!

The lender. They release it to you at the time of sale. No more lien.
