My town is also fighting a driver “shortage”. Its not a shortage. In MA School busses require a CDL and they pay well below market rates. Why would anyone, especially with a CDL, drive a bus for ~$15/hr when even fast food here is paying more?

Maybe the timing belt change is 75% of the labor to get to the water pump?

I live in Phoenix. I can’t speak to agriculture, but my neighbor has a grass lawn he needs to water 3 times a day to keep it green during the hottest part of the summer. It’s 115 here regularly during the day this time of year. This neighbor doesn’t have kids, has no need for a grass lawn other than he thinks it looks…

This is such a ridiculous practice in the first place. If you want your employees to buy your cars, just make better cars.
