Today, we decided to remove the server and its owner from Discord for continuing to allow hateful and discriminatory content after repeated warnings.

What Rowling has said is shit. Don’t defend this bigot she has more than enough money to do it herself. If someone says awful things they should be held accountable. 

I also think about RBG’s friendship with Scalia...which he just didn’t deserve.  That’s the problem with nice people, they’re nice to people who don’t deserve it, we all should be meaner and hold the baddies accountable.

It feels like sometimes folks from marginalized groups who attain a crazy amount of success - enough so that they’re essentially inoculated to hardships by money, power, fame, etc - and are able to take a far more forgiving stance on things, especially when it comes to friends. I’m thinking similarly of Ellen paling…

God I hate these, but it’s been a long time since an article made me feel so normal, I tried explaining these to friends and family when I was younger and no one knew what I was talking about.

I feel like there’s an ongoing competition to make the desktop version more unusable than the mobile version, and then the mobile version more unusable than the desktop version to make up, and so on.

I think they are trying to copy Wired’s layout, which is horrendous to begin with. Stuff is all over the place, it makes it near impossible to just go and find new articles.

Exactly. I assume it is a push from the top. This format allows Spanfeller to slip ads in between legit content, and collect clicks and $$.

It's a blog. The vast majority of people want it in chronological order, everything else is in the way. And it actually matters, because the autoplaying, centered, scrolling video that pops up in front of the articles on mobile... Make mobile completely unusable. 

I knew this day was coming, when it happened to Gizmodo.  Sad to see the backlash there didn’t make anyone pause to rethink the layout before moving it to more sites.
