I often sit far from the door as i ride almost end to end but have taken to calling out to folks with canes, etc. “Would it be helpful for you to sit down? Can you make it back here?” and almost without fail someone young and/or able-bodied will hop up close to the door an offer their seat. I’m juuuuuust old enough…
