For years I struggled with excessive daytime sleepiness despite getting 7-8 hours of sleep most nights. Sleep studies ruled out apnea, I avoided caffeine after 4pm and alcohol after 7pm whenever possible, and usually woke up before my alarm went off feeling well rested...the problem was that the “2:30 feeling” hit me

If you you realize before reducing that your fruit released way more juice than you can use for the pie, mix some of it with soda water for killer homemade soda.

3)Chicago flooding. Color me shocked that a city that has been rebuilt on top of itself repeatedly due to sinking into the muck has issues with getting soggy.

I grew up eating homemade Indian roti and think they’re great and all, but man, I would take a buttery, simultaneously-flaky-and-chewy Singaporean or Malaysian roti prata over an Indian roti any day of the week. We tend to keep roti prata in our freezer instead of roti, because they go just as nicely with Indian food

Yes - generally frozen roti are raw dough. At least the Pillsbury ones available at Indian grocery stores and the big packs sold at Costco are. The advice to keep them on the plastic is absolutely key, because once they thaw they’re pretty tough to handle.

I have no fucking clue what a Slightly Stoopid is, but apparently voucher tickets are available for their show at Northerly Island. You could go to that, I guess.

That 20V circular saw is excellent. When properly charged, it’s gone through 2-by lumber, 3/4" solid oak, MDF, and double layers of OSB and plywood without even slowing down. The only time it’s ever struggled or bound up on me is when the battery was running on fumes.

I feel like getting t-boned while driving one of these would quickly teach the driver what a kickball feels during a game.

Check out my username, dipshit.

How am I as a feminist supposed to respect people from India, or Saudi Arabia when women routinely get stoned for acts their husbands perpetrated, for daring to want to drive a car, or because they don’t want their clits cut off because it makes them ‘dirty’.

Here you go:

My wife was let go from BofA while she was pregnant, on hospital bed rest, yet still working via laptop & VPN over hospital wifi. She had previously been approved to work from home while on home bed rest, but things took a turn and she was told to get to the hospital ASAP.

Yep...dryer sheets work by rubbing a waxy later of fragrance & electrically-conductive soap (bit of an oversimplification...surfactants that used to be solidified natural oil blends, now they’re synthetic). Since dryers generate a lot of static electricity, the conductive dryer sheet residue makes your clothes’

Only using liquid fabric softener or none at all is key for keeping black clothes black. Dryer sheets will make them look dull and shabby in no time.

both unable to keep their hands to themselves.

Provigil. I’ve been on it for two weeks, and they’ve been the most awake & alert two weeks I’ve had in the past 15 years.

That is a fun bonus, yes. Same goes for stopping for pedestrians at marked mid-block crosswalks. A few weeks ago, I stopped at one in front of a hospital to let a hunched-over, walker-using old lady slowly shuffle her way across the street, and a cop in a marked car laid on his loud, electronic horn at me.

Also, on streets with parallel parking, staying as far to the side as possible puts you at risk of being seriously injured, possibly even killed, by being doored.
