They did, yes. They neutered the part of the Voting Rights Act that required federal approval before changing election laws in nine states (Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia) — most of which are located in the South. This included redistricting maps.

Long story short, a 20 year old man wanted to have sex with his younger sister, but she refused. He then convinced her to dab until she was so intoxicated that she could no longer recognize that he was her brother.

I feel like it’s counter-intuitive, but I think that higher divorce rates (tempered by later marrying ages) is a good thing. It means that people — predominately women — are more financially secure. People who wait to get married or get divorced are able to do so because they’re more financially secure. A person who

I’m in a similar situation. My partner and I will be celebrating our first year anniversary next year, and this year has been much like prior years of our relationship — aside from being in a better economic position. To be fair, he and I were dating and living together for a decade before we decided to get married,

Thank you for the link!

[...] yet the dozens of other people who had even worse impacts on her campaign are walking around without a scratch?

I was trying to find a reference to a story that I saw last year about a black man with two prosthetic legs being pulled out of his vehicle for failing to immediately comply with police demands (because, y’know, he’s disabled), and instead ended up with at least a dozen other similar cases.

I pointed him to Kinja Deals and a couple of other sites that provide stimming/fidget items. He didn’t go into too much detail, other than to explain that his son wants one and he had had difficulties finding them locally.

They fulfill different needs.

They fulfill different needs.

They’ve become so prevalent that, rather than destigmatizing fidgeting and stimming, they’re being banned for being distractions. Since it’s easier to make a zero tolerance policy rather than assess if an individual actually benefits from the item, this results in the objects being banned for all users.

I know a umber of people within the developmentally disabled community who benefit from fidget spinners. I haven’t heard anyone mention this app.

I can definitely see this as being beneficial to autistics and other people who stim visually. A lot of us stim either by light or motion, and this app may create a soothing repetitive pattern that would fulfill that need without being as flagrantly distracting as actual spinners. There’s probably no kinetic feedback,

I know that I have similar problems. I’m hyperaware that my words and actions can have negative impact on people, and it frequently leads to me either failing to interact with them or choosing to be overly cautious or obsequious.

Say you’re a privileged male, but you’re a dark Sicilian? Say you’re a poor queer woman, but you’re white as milk? How would you get any two people to agree where you should be placed on this matrix?

Lorre has repeatedly stated that Sheldon is not autistic. I’d feel more comfortable with this show and its predecessor if it were clear and there was deliberate acceptance for him being autistic, but there’s not. The humor ends up being a terrible mockery of the “worst” well-known traits associated with autism that

I don’t know who he is, but he is refreshingly emotive and I find that very appealing. To the interwebs!

I want to clarify that I was speaking about people who lack emotional empathy and not cognitive (which I specifically lack), but I’m also afraid of sounding like I condone your conclusion!
