@ranwhenparked: Maybe that's why this one needed a new rear end.

@gman1023: Volo. Which has the Volo Auto Museum, which has its own share of movie car awesomeness.
@RodRAEG: They tried amphibious Jeeps too, why didn't ChryCo take that a step further?
A family member asked me several years ago to recommend a car for her. She was in the market for a new or fairly new car and the only criteria was "I want a car that will never be stolen."
I'm ashamed of my state.
What did my dad drive?
For that money I'd rather have an original '67 GT500. I still like the GT500Es from Unique Performance but have grown up somewhat in the past 10 years (I was 12 when the GI60S remake came out). I have loved and adored and wanted a '67 GT500 since fourth grade when a very nice owner allowed me to sit in his blue…
Nice use of a steering wheel out of a 1980s Chevy G-body.
@GreenN_Gold: How about the Grand Am-based banana car from the Bloodhound Gang's "Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo"?
This one.
@87CapriceEstate: It's original. When I was about 10 years old I convinced my dad to buy it for $1200 from my next-door neighbor's elderly father, who had owned it since nearly new. It had a concrete slab in the bed, tobacco stains on the ceiling and a gun rack in the rear window.
@Novaload: Your point about luck is something I can relate to. I had a friend from high school die three years ago when her friend's mother lost control of a nearly-new 2006 Explorer and flipped it into a ravine. I don't know how fast they were going, somewhere between 40 and 60 mph. The truck had all the safety…
I still prefer my dad's '71 GMC over any new truck. Yes, I've locked up the rear drums twice while trying to stop for a red light. Yes, it has a gaping hole in the dash where the AM-only radio used to be. Yes, the air conditioner once blew up and sprayed freon all over the interior. Yes, I regularly stall it once or…
@Skink: Point taken, bad call on my part and in poor taste. Sorry.
Technically a custom, but it threw me for a loop for years. The owner claims it's a 1947 Cadillac factory prototype. It's actually an MGB roadster with a modified '47 Cadillac hood, grille and fenders grafted on. The interior is a GM parts bin including a '70s Trans-Am steering wheel. It's a real eye-catcher at shows…
@AlexG55: I've seen one of those in person. Thank you, Auto und Technikmuseum in Sinsheim, Germany! Every Jalop should go there at least once in their lives.
I was told that the other truck was a dairy truck... which would mean that as of yesterday Minnesota became like Israel: a land flowing with milk and honey.
@JonZeke: Seconded. I was trying to come up with something sufficiently forgettable, but you're right. It's pointless to try.
