Yep. People, especially white people are stupidly easy to manipulate through their own insulation and fears of the world around them. The GOP knows this and exploits despite being destructive racists themselves. I imagine this is why they have gone all-in on recruiting white nationalists/supremacists to their ranks.

tl;dr - just because these people aren’t cool with the most extreme anti-abortion position one can possibly take (which is basically where the GOP at large is,) doesn’t mean they agree with whatever you think the rules should be, or that they’re your allies in any other way.

This is nice and all but let’s see how it actually plays out during the Midterms and in 2024 and if people actually go out and vote when it counts...

Dems had super majority for like 2 months under Obama. And that includes some pro-life dems so they probably didn’t actually have the votes (Franken getting sworn in was delayed by republicans, then Byrd got sick, then Ted Kennedy died, so at best they had 58-59 votes). I’ve said this elsewhere, but if corporations want to help, they need to stop donating to the GOP. The GOP is not going to stop here. They will pass a national ban on abortion the second they get the chance. Then where are the corporations going to send people who need them? And have these corporations learned nothing…

I’ve pointed out before that Elon has been mocking pronouns on twitter for years. This is and always has been an anti-trans dogwhistle. The fact that he has a trans daughter makes it even more disgusting. I imagine those tweets were aimed at her. What a monster.

And honestly, it will probably just give them weird conservative boners instead of making them want to do anything bc the current GOP *loves* trauma porn. All I can think is how damaging it will be for Miah - piling trauma on top of trauma - when she goes up to D.C. to tell the most powerful people about the worst day of her life, and they will still do nothing about it.
