At the time I had the dream I was saving up to put a down payment on a GTI, a car that’s fun to drive. Hondas are cars for people who couldn’t possibly care less about driving. I’m not one of those people, and therefore a Honda (or a Toyota) is near the bottom of the list of cars I would want to own.

I had a dream once that my parents gave me and my wife a car, out of the kindness of their hearts.

But, what if it was supposed to be a third car to have for fun?

What if I told you it had a stick shift?

Reverse: Not yet, but I’ve been eyeing my uncle’s Discovery I.

I’m sorry, but your user name is making me laugh a lot. You have to be joking right?

Toggle switches make me weak in the knees. The only way this could possibly be better is if they were on the roof.

Yeah, I was confused. I know that GM-Daewoo in South Korea were heavily involved with the development of the Cruze, and I confused it with the production.

Brampton, Ontario, which means it’s built by people who speak French

Yeah, I was mistaken. GM Daewoo played a heavy part in the design of the Cruze, as did Opel.

Oh shoot, you’re right, but I wasn’t entirely wrong. Turns out the last generation Cruze is built in the US, Korea, Australia, Brazil, China, India, Khazakstan, Russia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

I think they build them in Canada or Mexico, but definitely not here.

I really can’t understand the appeal of red interiors.

Neutral: If GM didn’t make a big deal about it, I would be surprised if it became general knowledge. Most people probably think that the Cruze is built in America, not Korea.

This is the most F-ed up thing on the list, by far.

I thought the issue was that when the flaw was identified, everyone just kind of twiddled their thumbs instead of actually dealing with it, so it never got around to being fixed.

Because their customers treated them like Toyotas, not like a cheaper Audi.

because the company’s corporate culture didn’t permit failure.

Hence the problem.

I think they ran into a problem there.
