The House passes articles of impeachment, which are sent to the Senate for trial. If he’s convicted by a 2/3 majority, the Senate can then, in addition, vote to ban him from future public office, a vote which only requires a simple majority.

Trump isn’t the only one that needs to be removed from office and face substantial criminal charges. There are at least 147 Republican legislators who attempted to interfere and derail Biden’s confirmation as the duly elected President.
