I’m in a similar situation. When fast food apps (with their food discounts) started becoming a thing a couple of years ago, I started phasing out the “random, spur-of-the-moment” fast food trips, making purchases in advance through the app.

I will admit it. I was/Am a fast food addict. I mean shit i read a daily blog about fast food and casual dining.. But within the last year as costs have gone up, i’ve lost my appetite for this garbage.

Look at it this way - No matter how long your drive, getting in and out is only gonna take about ten seconds in total. So if you drive for 30 minutes, getting in and out is only about 0.55% of your total time. The rest is driving, and driving a Miata almost anywhere (that isn’t a highway) is basically mainlining…

Yup. It took a friend of mine buying an older 911 and letting me drive it all the way from Vail to Denver, but by the end I was a complete convert.

If there is a Freddy’s near you, give them a try. I won’t bother with fast food, but they do a good smash burger. I really like the patty melt.

They make the best overall menu in fast food (my opinion only).  The pork tenderloin sandwich is a personal favorite but any of their burgers (smash style is all they do) on a pretzel bun (when available) is great.  Plus, curds.
